Everton will reportedly snap up 69-EPL-goal striker this week once given green light

Giroud

As reported by the Mirror, Everton will make a definite move to land Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud this week once they know the club’s stance on the future of the French international.

The 30-year-old striker is said to be worth £25million, and it is a price the Toffees are willing to part with given his quality and 5-season Premier League experience.

However, no headway has been made in their pursuit of Giroud, as the Gunners have been mute as to whether he is available for sale or not.

Giroud has been tipped by many to play second fiddle to new Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette next term, and the player is said to be considering his future having played largely off the bench (23 times) last season.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has the Frenchman atop his striking wishlist, and he hopes to wrap up shopping in the summer market real soon so as to get everyone to hit the ground running once league action starts.

Giroud, though a bit inconsistent, is a proven goalscorer as they come, and he still has the potential to break the 20-goal barrier in a single Premier League season.

Perhaps, a new challenge is what he needs to peak, and Goodison Park can offer that. Howbeit, a decision must be made this week between all parties so that progress can be made.
