This Tuesday, August 1, 2017 (5:00 PM Pacific) Cimarrones de Sonora will host Pachuca at the Estadio Heroe de Nacozari for a match in the second round of Copa MX play. Both teams will fight Queretaro in this Group 8 of the competition and should make for a hard-fought game.

Sonora lost 2-0 against Queretaro in the first matchday of the Copa MX but are coming off a 2-1 win against Cafetaleros de Tapachula in the Ascenso MX. Manager Mario Garcia does not count with many notable players on his squad, former Morelia midfielder Victor Guajardo and former Pachuca striker Gustavo Ramirez among the more promising players on the roster. This will be a tough game for the team from Hermosillo but the home-field advantage may favor Sonora and make for a more exciting game.

Pachuca is off to a disappointing start to the Liga MX with a 1-0 loss against Pumas UNAM in week 1 and recently coming off a 2-0 loss against Club America in week 2. Los Tuzos made some huge signings this off season, bringing in Keisuke Honda and Edson Puch but they have not worked out yet early on.

Honda is still yet to make his debut and is unlikely to start in this game but Diego Alonso will surely present a rigid side that will be tough to break down. Pachuca is the clear favorite to win this game and there should be a few goals in this intriguing matchup.
