According to reports, Newcastle United are looking to sign Everton duo Oumar Niasse and James McCarthy.
The Magpies are looking to make a few more signings ahead of their return to the Premier League during the upcoming season.
McCarthy featured regularly for the Toffees whilst Roberto Martinez was manager of the club, however he saw limited playing time last season due to injury. He also was criticized by manager Ronald Koeman for a lack of fitness last season.
Koeman’s team now have excellent options in midfield for the new season and as a result, they may be willing to offload McCarthy should they receive a good enough offer. He could also form a good partnership with Jonjo Shelvey.
Niasse has not managed to feature regularly under Koeman and it looks as though he may be surplus to requirements at Goodison Park. He is likely to also be offloaded over the coming weeks to free up space within the squad.
