West Ham United owner David Sullivan has labeled Dimitri Payet as a flawed individual who will never reach his full potential.
Payet was superb during the 2015-16 for the Hammers winning the clubs player of the year award and scoring 12 goals which helped the team finished seventh overall in the League and qualify for the Europa League.
He however left the club controversially in January by refusing to play in order to force a move to Marseille. Sullivan now feels that the Frenchman will never achieve his true potential due to his behavior.
He said, “We knew Dimitri was flawed, and that’s why we got him for £10.5m. It was a fantastic buy, but we knew we bought a flawed individual and someone who could well go on strike – he had done it all before. That’s why he never reached his full potential as a player and why big clubs have steered clear of him.”
