Rangers star says he is determined to prove himself to Pedro Caixinha

Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn is determined to prove himself to the clubs manager Pedro Caixinha.

The 28-year-old Waghorn has fallen down the pecking order at the Ibrox club following the arrivals of Eduardo Herrera and Alfredo Morelos.

Waghorn however has insisted that he is prepared to fight for a place in the first team and if selected for the clubs final two pre-season friendlies against Watford and Sheffield Wednesday, he will try to play to the best of his ability.

He said on RangersTV, “It’s important for everyone, but we have brought in two strikers and brought in competition right throughout the squad. Not only for myself, but for other players maybe on the fringes, it’s chance for everyone to impress.”

While Waghorn will have to work hard to work his way back into the first team of the Gers, the fact that the club has more options in attack will be good news for fans as it proves that they boast more strength in depth.
