Liverpool reportedly have to beat off competition from Arsenal for £50million man

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool is joined by Premier League rivals Arsenal in registering an interest in Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.

The Premier League clubs were put on high alert following reports that Mahrez wanted out of the Foxes. They have now reportedly asked to keep tabs on the player, and are tracking the latest developments with a keen focus.

Leicester City has already rejected Roma’s advances towards the Algerian winger, and are said to be holding out for an offer in the region of £50million.

Mahrez was instrumental in the side that shocked the world by winning the Premier League two years ago, and has a proven track record within the competition.

He would be a signing that would bring a much needed level of pedigree and winning mentality to whichever club he ultimately chooses to sign for.

Whether clubs are willing to meet Leicester city’s evaluation remains to be seen, however, and only time will tell how this latest transfer saga will unfold.
