Watford and Hull reportedly involved in a battle to sign attacker for £8million

According to reports, Watford and Hull City are involved in a £8million fight to lure Liverpool flop Lazar Markovic.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has made it no secret that he is looking to offload Markovic this summer, who has managed just 19 Premier League appearances during a three year spell with the club.

Watford boss Marco Silva managed to get Markovic on loan with Hull whilst he was manager of the club last January and remains an admirer.

New Tigers boss Leonid Slutsky is also a fan of the 23-year-old Markovic and sees him as a replacement for Ahmed Elmohamady, who left the KCOM to join Aston Villa earlier this month.

Markovic had disappointing loan spells with Fenerbahce and Sporting Lisbon previously and is likely to be offloaded for a knockdown price. A sale will be best for both him and the Reds considering that the player has failed to establish himself within the squad.
