Former England striker Tony Cottee has urged West Ham to sign Jack Wilshere from Arsenal.
The Hammers are looking to bolster their side this summer in order to improve upon their disappointing 11th place finish in the Premier League last season and have thus far completed high profile signings such as that of Pablo Zabaleta, Javier Hernandez, Marko Arnautovic and Joe Hart.
The injury prone Wilshere has just a year left on his current deal with the Gunners, who are likely to be open to listening to offers for him.
Cotte has now urged the Hammers to consider a move for Wilshere this summer, saying, “Pablo Zabaleta arrived earlier this summer, I said we needed a goal-scorer and we’ve got Hernadez to solve that problem. Now there’s Arnautovic to create them.
“All we need to now is sign Jack Wilshere. I think he’d be a great addition. You’ve just got to keep him fit, that’s all you’ve got to do. He’s a £50m player when fit.”
