Liverpool reportedly receive £22million bid for key player

Liverpool have remained confident that they would tie German midfielder Emre Can to a new deal but the 23-year-old might reconsider his options after a £22million bid from Juventus, according to Tuttosport.

Among Liverpool’s top pre-season priorities is that they can get Emre Can, currently on holiday after his involvement with Germany in the Confederations Cup, to commit his long term future with the Reds as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

Despite being in the market for another defensive midfielder, Naby Keita, Liverpool are hoping to retain their best players ahead of their Champions League return campaign next season.

Juventus boss Max Allegri is searching for a new defensive midfielder as he looks to strengthen his squad after failing to win the Champions League after reaching two finals in three years.

Juventus have also kept an eye on Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic after the Premier League winners signed Bakayoko from Monaco last week, as a backup option if a move for Can fails to materialize.

The Seria A giants are looking to take advantage of this circumstance having bid £22million as they try to acquire the player as cheaply as possible.
