Liverpool reportedly have record breaking bid rejected

According to reports, Liverpool have had a €75 million offer rejected for RB Leipzig star Naby Keita.

Keita dazzled the football world this past season as his performances helped the relatively unknown Leipzig outfit finish the Bundesliga in second position.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the 22-year-old, who has three years remaining on his current contract and will not come cheap at this point in time.

Dietrich Mateschitz, the co-founder of Red Bull, which backs Leipzig, has confirmed that his side received a huge €75 million offer but added that the midfielder is not for sale.

He said: “We were flattered when an offer of 75 million euros offer for Naby Keita recently landed at our door. No way! He still has a contract and he will fulfil it.

“To sell him (Keita) would not only be a sign of distrust for our fans, but would also send out the wrong signal to our other players, such as Timo Werner, who are also in demand.”
