Celtic’s hopes of signing Premier League attacker dealt a huge blow

Celtic’s hopes of signing Patrick Roberts ahead of next season have taken a blow after he was named in Manchester City’s squad for their pre-season tour of USA

This could indicate that manager Pep Guardiola will assess the youngster to decide on whether to include him in the Citizens first team plans for next season.

Roberts spent 18 months on loan with the Bhoys and was very impressive, helping the club win a domestic treble this past season during which it went unbeaten.

He also won the hearts of many Celtic fans last season after turning down the opportunity to play for the England under-20 side in order to remain part of the team till the end of the season.

Celtic are interested in bringing Roberts back on a permanent deal, it however remains to be seen what City will decide to do with the youngster ahead of next season.
