Everton man says he is stronger now following a terrible season last term

Brendan Galloway, who recently joined Sunderland on a season long loan from Everton, has admitted that his failed loan spell with West Brom last season has made him stronger.

The Zimbabwe born Galloway joined the Baggies on a season long loan deal last summer but after the defender managed just three first team appearances, the Toffees opted to recall him in April.

The 21-year-old has since revealed that the frustrations of last season have made him stronger. He said: “I have become a stronger person and now I am looking forward to the challenge.

“I learned last season that you have to get your head down, work hard, do extra things and stay focused because you never know if you will get the opportunity. I had to remain patient, that has made me stronger and hopefully it shapes me up well for the future.”

Galloway will likely receive a significant amount of playing time for the Black Cats under Simon Grayson next season and this will be the perfect opportunity for him to develop as a player.
