According to reports, Lucas Leiva’s ten year stay at Liverpool is set to come to an end after the club accepted an £5 million bid from Lazio to sign him.
Leiva is somewhat of a hero at the Merseyside club but received limited playing time under Jurgen Klopp last season, leading to speculation that he would be leaving the club.
The £5 million that the Reds have accepted matches the amount that they paid Gremio in 2007 to sign him.
Leiva had also been linked with a move away from Anfield during the last transfer window and it was suggested that Inter Milan were looking to sign him, though nothing materialized.
During his time with the club, Leiva made 346 appearances, scoring ten goals in the process. He however won just won one trophy with the club, which was the 2011-12 League Cup and also was the recipient of the club;s Player of the year award in 2010-11.
