Aston Villa reportedly set to agree a deal for defender

According to reports, Ally Cissokho is on the verge of leaving Aston Villa and joining Turkish club Yeni Malatyaspor.

The French international Cissokho spent last season on loan with Greek side Olympiacos and has reportedly been informed by Villa that he is free to leave the team this summer.

The 29-year-old Cissokho joined the Villains from Spanish club Valencia and has gone on to make 58 appearances for the club in all competitions.

He began last season as first choice left back whilst Roberto di Mateo was in charge.  However upon Steve Bruce’s arrival, he was dropped from the team after conceding penalties during the new manager’s first two matches at the helm of the club.

He is set to undergo a medical with the Turkish club over the coming days and will hope to rejuvenate his career with his new club. This move does not come as a surprise.
