According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur are considering possibly hijacking Leicester City’s £20 million move for Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
After falling down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium last season behind the likes of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus, Iheanacho has been told that he is free to leave the club.
Over recent weeks, Leicester have been listed as being the favorites to sign Iheanacho as they look to bolster their attack ahead of next season.
However in a twist to the tale, Spurs could be confident in hijacking the deal due to City’s interest in signing their defender Kyle Walker.
Should Spurs offer £20 million, they could land themselves a promising young striker, while in the process they will also speed up the sale of Walker, who reportedly wants to leave the club after losing his place in the first team to Kieran Trippier.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have yet to make any signings this summer, though they will be aware that they may need to make changes ahead of next season if they wish to challenge for major silverware.
