Three Linfield faces Celtic fans should remember

With Celtic’s date with Linfield coming up, let’s take a look at three men that the Hoops’ fans will find familiar as they line up with the Northern Irish champions on Friday.

David Healy

The manager of the Belfast outfit has done well after coming into the job after two seasons. He’s taken them to a treble last term, and he has helped get them here.

Of course, he also was a striker for Rangers for a short time and scored four goals in limited appearances there. That will make him a face that Celtic fans probably will not like, especially after some of the words spoken ahead of this tie.

Roy Carroll

If you’re going to pull off a huge upset, you have to have a good goalkeeper to help you do it. Roy Carroll, despite being 39 years of age, now has the experience and ability to produce a magical night if given the chance to.

The former Manchester United and, yes, Rangers-again-man might not move like he used to, but is still capable of helping organize a defense to a victory. It’d be one of his very best if he got anything close to a draw in this one.

Andy Waterworth

This one is a bit out there and it might take a true fan to remember him. The former Motherwell man once played for Hamilton Academical. More importantly, though, is the fact that he scored 20 goals last season for his side.

While that is impressive and shows that he can take a chance when given, it will be hard for him to get many good opportunities as Celtic are surely just a level above them. Surely. Yet still, there can no mistakes or quarter given, or he can and will pounce.
