Former Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins has claimed that Ross Barkley will leave Everton after the Toffees managed to complete the signing of Wayne Rooney on a two year deal.
The 23-year-old Barkley turned down the opportunity to sign a new contract with the Merseyside club earlier in the year and has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
The England international is also out of contact with the club at the end of next season, which means that this summer will be the last opportunity that they get to cash in on a sale of him.
Wilkins said: “Having taken Wayne, I could see Ross actually moving on now. Obviously, a couple of guys brought in for advanced positions at Everton, and I think Ross Barkley may well move on now.”
“What a snip!”

The attacking midfielder managed to score five goals and notch eight assists from 36 matches last season.
