According to reports, Sheffield Wednesday are interested in buying Alan Hutton from Aston Villa.
The Scotland international Hutton made 31 appearances for Villa last season but he could be set to fall down the pecking order at the club given that James Bree is being touted as the clubs future first choice right back.
Following a disappointing season last year, Villa manager Steve Bruce is preparing for a squad overhaul and Hutton could well be set for departure.
Wednesday, who agonizing lost in the promotion playoffs in the semi-finals, are also looking to bolster their squad ahead of next season. They are however hoping to sign Hutton on a free transfer, while Villa are demanding a £1 million fee for the sale of the player.
Hutton has plenty of experience in the Premier League and could be a good addition to the Wednesday squad. A move may also allow him to play on a regular basis, which he may not be able to do at Villa next season.
