Giants reportedly place Liverpool superstar as backup target

According to French publication L’Equipe, PSG has identified Phillipe Coutinho as the back-up target should they fail to sign Kylian Mbappe.

Liverpool has been very adamant about keeping a hold of the tricky Brazilian, and representatives of the Merseyside club have constantly reiterated that the playmaker is not for sale.

The Parisian club, however, has pockets that run deep and could make the sort of offer that is very difficult to turn down.

Coutinho has previously stated his commitment to the club, with the Brazilian seemingly more than happy to honour his contract.

It remains to be seen whether there is late drama in this saga, especially with PSG desperate to bolster their squad following an embarrassing 2nd place finish in Ligue 1 last season.

Kylian Mbappe has recently signed a new contract with Monaco, and it is likely that to sign the young Frenchman, bids in the world record region will have to be made.
