According to reports, Everton are ready to meet Arsenal’s asking price for striker Olivier Giroud.
The 30-year-old Giroud joined the Gunners from French club Montpellier five years ago for £9.6 million. Since then, he has played 226 times for the club’s first team and scored 98 goals in the process.
The Frenchman fell down the pecking order at the club last season, being often used by Arsene Wenger as a substitute and following Alexandre Lacazette’s arrival at the club from Lyon this summer, his chances of gaining regular first team action next season would have been dealt a further blow.
Ronald Koeman is however keen to offer Giroud the chance to join the Toffees as they prepare for the departure of Romelu Lukaku this summer.
Manchester United are on the verge of securing the Belgian international and considering that he was the clubs top- scorer last season, it will be a good idea for them to add experienced strikers to their roster.
