Leicester reportedly want Everton man but £25million asking price might be too steep

According to reports, Leicester City have been an inquiry about signing Everton midfielder James McCarthy, who the Toffees have valued at around £25 million.

The Republic of Ireland international McCarthy missed many games of last season due to hamstring problems and is now believed to be available for a transfer.

The price tag that Ronald Koeman’s side have inserted on McCarthy is likely to be a turn off to many clubs and they may be also in need of midfield reinforcements this summer, considering that Ross Barkley is expected to depart from the club this summer.

Leicester are looking to reinforce their squad following a disappointing season during which they flirted with relegation.

Manager Craig Shakespeare may also be set to lose players from his squad among them Napalys Mendy and considering the experience and quality of McCarthy, he will be a good addition to the Foxes. It remains to be seen whether they are open to paying the price wanted by Everton though.
