According to reports, West Ham United have pulled out of the race to sign Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho after manager Slaven Bilic expressed doubts about the player.
The Hammers had reportedly been monitoring the 20-year-old Iheanacho for over a month as they look to bolster their forward options ahead of next season.
Now in an update it has been revealed that although Bilic knows the potential of Iheanacho, the West Ham boss is said to have cooled his interest in signing the striker as he only played a limited role for City last season and also due to the fact that signing him would require a large portion of the club’s transfer budget.
The Nigerian international managed 29 appearances for the Citizens last season, only nine of which were starts and he has fallen down the pecking order at the club behind Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus.
It appears that Leicester City are now in pole position to land Iheanacho, who will be looking to play more regularly.
