Tottenham interested in 23-year-old but reportedly not ready to pay £50million

According to reports, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino wishes to sign Ross Barkley but is not prepared to pay the £50 million that Everton are demanding.

Barkley’s current deal at Goodison Park expires at the end of next season and after failing to sign a new deal with the club, he has been linked with a transfer – with Spurs reported to be keen on luring him.

The 23-year-old Barkley is said to have turned down a new £100,000 a week deal at Everton.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is seemingly aware that he will part ways with the England international Barkley and seems to have already signed a replacement in Davy Klaasen, who joined the Merseyside club from Ajax.

In addition to Spurs, Arsenal as well as Manchester United and Chelsea are also said to be interested in Barkley.

The midfielder is said to want to leave Goodison Park in order to boost his chances of making the England squad for the 2018 World Cup.
