West Ham reportedly want 29-year-old striker with proven Premier League record

According to reports, West Ham United are eyeing a possible deal to sign Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkuson.

The Hammers are looking to bring in a proven goal scorer this summer after a disappointing season and Hernandez is now reportedly their top target.

Slaven Bilic’sside have been dealt a great deal of frustration this summer as their aims to sign Olivier Giroud, Kelechi Iheanacho and Michy Batshuayi have all yet to materialize. Hernandez is a proven Premier League goal scorer.

During his time with Manchester United, he smashed 59 goals from 157 appearances prior to leaving in 2015.

During his time with Bayer so far, the 29-year-old has bagged 39 goals from 76 appearances and the club may consider selling him in order to cash in after failing to qualify for European competition.

Hernandez is also entering the final year of his current contract and his club may have to sell to avoid risking losing him for free.
