Few around Elland Road would be faulted if they were to be feeling a little sorry for themselves and low in confidence after Leeds United capitulated in the Championship promotion race. Further yet, they could have felt that way when manager Garry Monk bolted.
But that’s not the case at all, as evidenced by the words of Liam Cooper. Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the defender said that new manager Thomas Christiansen “is going to come in with his own ideas and hopefully that can get us over the line at the end of the season.”
The former APOEL Nicosia coach did superbly in European competitions despite his limited talent and budget around him, and the Whites have been buying players of seemingly high quality in order to help him get the club back in the promotion fight this season.
One thing has to be said. If the players are already on his side, then this looks like it could be a really great season for Leeds as they chase the top six- and hopefully for them- the top two spots in the Championship.
