Newcastle United can reportedly sign top defensive target for £8million

According to reports, Arsenal are demanding £8 million for Newcastle United target Kieran Gibbs.

After the signing of Sead Kolasinac on a free trial, Gibbs looks to be surplus to requirements at the Gunners and it is very likely that he will leave the club this summer.

The left back was limited to just 11 Premier League starts last season, with Nacho Monreal being preferred to him.

Magpies manager Rafa Benitez reportedly has his eyes on Gibbs as he looks to add a experienced defender to his team ahead of their Premier League return next season.

At this stage, the best thing that Gibbs can do for the sake of his career is to move on. He will fit in well into the Newcastle squad and also may be able to teach younger players of the team valuable lessons which they can use to grow as players. His Premier League experience may also be very useful to the team.
