Celtic boss Rodgers reportedly keen on securing major midfielder deal

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to re-sign key midfield ace Stuart Armstrong after his very successful season last term.

The Hoops boss and Armstrong put contract talks on hold as the club chased the treble last season.

Now according to the Daily Record, Rodgers is very much set on keeping the midfielder at Parkhead for the long term. His contract would be up at the end of the season, but Celtic aren’t likely to let him leave that easily.

Rodgers said that “contracts are always about length of time or finances but I’m confident the club and the agent will come to an agreement.”

The Northern Irish boss wants to continue to see Armstrong develop, and this looks his best bet to do just that.
