Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers took time today to talk about captain midfielder Scott Brown’s importance and greatness over the last decade at Parkhead. In ten seasons so far, the skipper has helped land 13 trophies.
And according to the Daily Record, there could be even more added to that number as the gaffer looks to tie up the skipper for at least a little while longer.
Rodgers said of Brown: “He’s done it over the course of 10 years here but what he did last season puts him alongside the greatest captains,” before saying that Brown is still “hungry and driven to keep winning” despite being at the age of 32.
Rodgers then most crucially added that “He’ll be around for a few more years yet.” Even if Brown were to start diminishing greatly right away, he would still be a very valuable player to have in the dressing room for the Hoops.
But, don’t expect his play to drop entirely just yet. He’s still got another two solid years to make even more history and to take the green and white to even greater heights.
