Rangers’ new look squad fails to impress

Six years had come and gone since Rangers took part in a European tie. But on Thursday night, they changed that when they played at Ibrox to a crowd of over 48,000 eager supporters. The new-look squad featured three of manager Pedro Caixinha’s new signings.

However, the tie was far from the most glamorous match as Rangers struggled mightily to find a rhythm throughout the match.

Veteran center midfielder Niko Kranjcar and Scottish striker Kenny Miller would eventually combine for the game’s only goal after some quick thinking on a free kick.

The Croatian would quickly slip the ball in behind for Miller, who put the ball into the back of the net. Perhaps the thing that will disappoint fans on the night was not being able to find a second or third goal to kill off the tie.

They now will travel to Luxembourg next week looking to do just that, and they will be hopeful of a better performance this time around.
