Leeds United could be set for yet another summer signing as Thomas Christensen looks to add to his squad ahead of the new Championship season. This time it’s in the form of a goalkeeper, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The report states that the Whites are close to signing Werder Bremen shot stopper Felix Wiedwald, and that he is about to undergo a medical to see if the club will in fact bring him in. The goalkeeper is 27 years old, and looks to be snapped up in a hurry after becoming available for the move.
The goalkeeper featured 25 times in the Bundesliga last term, recording five clean sheets but conceding nearly twice per match. However, his side played a very attacking style. Wiedwald’s gotten good reviews, and he looks like a quality addition for Leeds.
This looks like yet another good move for Leeds, as German goalkeepers are known to be top-notch in a lot of cases. The club are looking to move forward after a seventh place finish last season, and signings like this could be the way to do just that.
