Celtic were reportedly keen on signing former Dundee United full back Barry Douglas from Turkish side Konyaspor, but the deal looks like it will not be happening now.
After some talks between the player and the club, it appears that Konyaspor are looking to sell him to English side Wolves instead, according to the Evening Telegraph. The reason is because new Wolves boss Nuno Santo is happy to pay the full asking price for the full back.
That means that Konyaspor are likely to sell the Scottish Premiership veteran to the English side instead of allowing him to move to Celtic. The Wolves boss has a connection to his former club, and it’s said that the player is happy to move back to the UK after a couple of years away.
This is a little disappointing for Celtic, but it’s far from being the end of the world as it’s a real question as to if he would improve the team very much.
