Naby Keita is the latest midfielder to be linked with Liverpool this summer, as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to mold his fledgling side into serious challengers.
The Guinean midfielder will not come cheap, however, with ESPN reportedly claiming that RB Leipzig are not ready to sell for any amount under £70 million.
The energetic box to box midfielder has had a breakout season in Bundesliga, and his style of play has had him ear-marked as the perfect player for Klopp’s system.
According to Bundesliga journalist Ross Dunbar, Keita is “an obvious fit for Liverpool”. His strengths lie in his ability to press off the ball, which is an asset that is clearly given precedence by Klopp.
Add this to the fact that he is an extremely versatile player and can operate in any position in the midfield and you have the perfect “Klopp” player.
The price seems a little too steep however, and any deal will have to see RB Leipzig significantly lower their asking price for the young star.
