As documented yesterday, Leeds United owner Andrea Radriazzni is keeping very busy with The Whites this off season. Managers have come and gone, they’ve made signings and resignings, and they announced the reincorporation of the women’s team.
Now today, they have gone a step further by announcing that they have bought back Elland Road, their home since 1919 (BBC Sport). This news will be very welcomed by supporters of the team who will feel like this has been in the making for over a decade now.
When Leeds hit hard times, they were forced to sell the lease to the stadium some 13 years ago. But they have today confirmed that they will be back in control of the famous old ground that has produced so many lasting memories.
This is a great move for not only Leeds fans, but fans of the game itself. It shows that there are owners out there that are looking to do the right thing and improve the lives of fans. Let’s hope this continues and that the trend is expanded by other clubs in the near future.
