According to reports, West Ham are interested in signing unsettled Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel and have not been put off by the £24 million buy-out clause in the players’ contract.
Hammers manager Slaven Bilic is looking to add new strikers to his squad this summer, especially given that Michail Antonio, who plays as a midfielder, was the club’s top scorer this past season with nine strikes.
Muriel bagged 11 goals in the Serie A this past season and has also reportedly attracted the interest of Leicester City, Roma and Inter Milan.
After two seasons at Sampadoria, Muriel appeared to indicate recently that he is open to leaving the club by saying, “There are a lot of rumours about me and my agent told me he will only call with something concrete. He has not called me yet and hope he will within the next few days.”
Muriel is very highly rated and has been nicknamed the Colombian Ronaldo.
