Rangers leave out six senior players from squad for European tie

Thursday night will be the first of many tests this season for Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha, and he will be hoping that the test won’t be too difficult. They will be facing Progre in the Europa League qualifying rounds beginning on Thursday.

It has now been revealed that Rangers will be going in against the Luxembourg side without six of their more senior players on Thursday in Glasgow, according to BBC Sport.

Rob Kiernan, Andy Hamilton, Matt Crooks, Harry Forrester, Michael O’Halloran, and Joe Dodoo have all been left out, but a lot of new signings have been included in the squad.

This match is important for Rangers as they try to get their season going and to build some (very) early momentum.

A loss could seriously derail the team, and this looks like one of those ties where you can’t truly ‘win’ in the classical sense. It will be interesting to see how this pans out in the end, and if all will be well in the end.
