Club Tijuana officially announced the signing of Gustavo Bou from the Argentine side, Racing Club de Avellaneda this Monday, June 26. The Xolos lost plenty of key players in the Liga MX Draft and now the new manager in charge of Tijuana, Eduardo Coudet, is trying to rebuild the team with a strong base of Argentine talent.
Bou is the second Argentine player that Eduardo Coudet has officially brought into the club with the midfielder, Enzo Kalinski being the first Argentine signing for Tijuana this offseason. Bou had a solid season in Argentina with Racing Club, scoring 10 goals throughout the Argentine Primera Division campaign. The 27-year-old forward had been a consistent scorer for La Academia for several years now, even being the top scorer in the 2015 Copa Libertadores campaign.
In attack, the Xolos lost some notable names this offseason in Milton Caraglio, who signed with Atlas and Aviles Hurtado, who signed with Monterrey. Bou is a distinct player than both Caraglio and Hurtado offering a formidable physical presence at 5-foot-10 but also being very mobile and quick when going forward. Bou’s finishing ability is among his most impressive traits and he should supply Club Tijuana with plenty of goals in the Apertura 2017.
