The Mexican national team and Hector Moreno are currently playing in the 2017 edition of the FIFA Confederations Cup. While the prestigious competition is going on in Russia there are several transfers throughout the world of football including one in Russia that may have just affected Hector Moreno’s role at his new club, AS Roma.
It has been announced by various outlets that AS Roma defender, Kostas Manolas has snubbed the English Premier League and has decided to sign a four-year contract with Russian League side, Zenit. This now leaves Federico Fazio, Antonio Rudiger and Hector Moreno as the three quality centre-back options left on the Serie A side. Fazio’s future is still unclear and the Argentine may be on his way out of Rome before next season.
This leaves Mexican defender, Hector Moreno with a huge responsibility and a vital role on the Serie A side. Roma was four points off of the Serie A title this season and now Moreno could be the man at the heart of the defense for Eusebio Di Francesco. The Mexican international has had a solid Confederations Cup campaign even scoring a goal for El Tri against Portugal. Moreno has proven himself in Spain, Holland and at the international stage and is set for a big season at the Stadio Olimpico.
