Celtic boss Rodgers says he will wait a while before signing new players

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, has stated that his team would get only one more player to the start of the European qualifiers.

Someone might think that this is because the Hoops have enough depth at all positions, but in fact, the truth is totally opposite. After signing Jonny Hayes, several more players will come.

However, Rodgers explained to Celtic TV earlier yesterday, that he understands the football market in Europe and that in his experience, players with more quality are much easier to sign as the transfer window reaches his end.

He said, “I know how it works. It’s later on in the window before players of real quality become available. I want to bring the best possible players into here.”

Celtic boss has tremendous expertise in these situations since he was the manager in Liverpool and Swansea, clubs who were often active on the market, during that time of the year.

We will see how this plan affects the Hoops chances of reaching the Champions League. They start this journey against La Fiorita or Linfield in three weeks, and to participate in the elite European competitions, boys from Parkhead need to win in all three rounds of qualifications.
