Aston Villa reportedly express interest in signing Premier League midfielder

The Sun reports that Joe Ledley, the bearded Welsh international, could be a subject of a three-way battle involving Derby County, West Brom, and Aston Villa.

The 30-year old midfielder will become a free agent since his contract with Crystal Palace is set to run out in July. It is no secret that he will leave Palace, but the question remains on where he will continue his career.

As the reports claim, Ledley is wanted by the Midlands trio – Derby, Aston Villa, and West Brom, but several other clubs have shown interest in the experienced player. Turkey, Germany, or even China could be among his next destinations.

Villa manager Steve Bruce could go for Ledley if his bid for Stoke’s Glenn Whelan fails to materialize as the Potters are still playing hardball with the price of the midfielder.

However, Ledley is three years younger and he is a free agent, which means that Aston Villa boss could re-think his priorities and put a bit more effort into signing the Welsh international.
