Jordan Amavi, who joined Villa in 2015, is set to leave the club during the summer transfer window, according to the Birmingham Mail.
Amavi himself has reportedly stated that he wants to leave the club in search of better challenges and he feels that a club with European football could suit his qualities. Playing in the Championship seems to be below his expectations and ambitions.
The 23-year-old cost Villa £9 million when he arrived from Nice, but during his stay in Birmingham – he failed to justify the funds invested in his services. He did, however, manage to record 34 appearances for the club last season.
Reportedly, Villa turned down a £25 million offer from China for Amavi in January, but other clubs are being heavily linked with the player, including Liverpool, Marseille, Monaco, Atletico Madrid, and so on.
If they are going to challenge for the promotion next year, Steve Bruce will need footballers who are willing to fight for the club, and Jordan Amavi seems to be miles away from such a player.
