After a bad season in which he failed to meet the expectations on Ibrox, Joe Garner could leave the Glasgow Rangers.
According to East Anglian Daily Times, the 28-year-old striker is negotiating with Ipswich Town, and in very short notice, he might become the member of Mike McCarthy’s team. The Tractor Boys have offered £1 million for Garner, and Rangers officials are keen to sell him.
Just 12 months ago, the Gers landed him from Preston North End for almost double the money, £1.8 million, but it turned out that this deal was a major bust. In 31 appearances during the past season, Garner scored only seven goals.
Also, Rangers are trying to collect enough money to improve the bid from Graham Dorrans, and the tranfer for Garner would come handy.
The former member of England U19 national team, Garner played for Blackburn Rovers, Carlisle United, Nottingham Forest, Watford and Preston North End.
His brief adventure in Scotland has not been successful, but Mick McCarthy thinks that he will be a useful member of his squad.
