The Chronicle reports that Matz Sels has been offered an escape route out of Newcastle United, and his next destination could be the Turkish side Fenerbahce.
The 25-year-old Belgian goalkeeper has disappointed everyone in his debut campaign in the Premier League, and he is looking for ways to kick-start his career and display his true potential.
Last season, Sels arrived on Tyneside from his former club Gent, for a fee of $5.5 million. He started a couple of matches between the posts, but his form later deteriorated and he was dropped to the bench for the rest of the season.
With Tim Krul returning to Newcastle, and the likes of Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot also being in the pecking order, Sels is now available for transfer.
Fenerbahce are interested in a season-long loan, but it remains to be seen what type of agreement the two clubs will achieve in the end.
