According to reports in Express and Star, George Boyd could be leaving Burnley this summer and Aston Villa is lining up a bid for the experienced winger.
Boyd, who will become a free agent at the end of the month, has refused to sign a new contract at Turf Moor.
His decision not to put pen to paper clearly indicates that his future lies elsewhere, and Villa boss Steve Bruce is interested in bolstering his options in the middle by signing the experienced attacker.
Aston Villa manager has worked with Boyd before, as they spent one season together at Hull. Even not considering their previous cooperation, Bruce is certainly familiar with the qualities and talent of the player in question.
The 31-year-old is still displaying impressive performances and can do special things with the ball on his feet.
Aside from Boyd, Villa is also interested in Glenn Whelan from Stoke, who could also help them make a stronger core of the team for the upcoming season.
