Tottenham reportedly pull out in the race to sign African superstar

Tottenham have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Leicester City star Riyadh Mahrez.

After Leicester failed to reenact the heroics of their 2015-16 Premier League winning season, Mahrez has made it known that he wishes to leave the King Power Stadium ahead of next season.

The Algerian international Mahrez was one of the catalysts behind the Foxes title triumph two seasons ago and won the PFA Player of the Year award after smashing 17 Premier League goals.

Though he did not manage to replicate the same form this past season, Mahrez will still attract the interest of big-name clubs.

The decision of Spurs to pull out of the race to sign the star is likely to place Arsenal in pole position in the race to sign him.

Arsenal will be looking to make many new additions to their side this summer as they look to challenge for a place in the Champions League next season.
