Tottenham and Everton reportedly locked in a battle for “The Turkish Ozil”

According to the reports in the Sun, Tottenham and Everton will go head-in-head to secure the service of Hakan Calhanoglu, who is keen on a move to the Premier League.

Known for his incredible free kicks and creative assists, Calhanoglu has been named “the Turkish Mesut Ozil,” and even though the phrase contains a touch of sarcasm and irony – the resemblances are certainly clearly visible.

The 23-year-old Turkish international, who was born in Germany, has been linked with numerous clubs in the last couple of years.

Chelsea and Arsenal were heavily interested in his services, but it seems that Besiktas and Galatasaray are currently chasing the young star. Also, Lazio in Italy, are willing to secure his signature, but it seems that Calhanoglu only has eyes for the Premier League.

Tottenham and Everton will have to splash at least £20 million for his services, and it remains to be seen if Calhanoglu’s free-kick goals will bring joy to fans of either of these teams.
