Former Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins has revealed that he feels that Romelu Lukaku will be a good addition to the Chelsea side but will not be as good as club legend Didier Drogba.
The Premier League Champions will reportedly have to fork out a sum of money believe to be in the region of £100 million for Lukaku.
Given that Diego Costa may well depart Stamford Bridge this summer, Wilkins believes that Lukaku will be a good addition to the Chelsea squad at this point in time and will be able to start for the club on a regular basis.
However he did add that Lukaku may not match the achievements of Drogba, who is regarded as a club legend.
Wilkins said, “If you look at Chelsea over the last x amount of years, you’ve had the Drog. They will never find another Drogba, he was the best. Then they had [Diego] Costa and now Lukaku just is a perfect fit.”
