Aston Villa officially confirm the release of 10 players

Birmingham Mail reports that Aston Villa has released 10 players, and this move seems to be just the beginning of their summer clear out.

Steve Bruce has decided to tidy up the situation in his club, and that seems to be the motivation behind an official release of ten players. The ten players released by Villa are now free agents, which means that they can open talks with other clubs.

Libor Kozak, an injury-prone striker is the most prominent name on the list, and he is free to leave after a highly unsuccessful and disappointing spell in England.

Youngsters such as Henry Cowans and Riccardo Calder are also departing, after having spent last season on loan at Stevenage and Lincoln City, respectively. Their performances during the loan spell did not convince the management of Aston Villa to keep them on board.

The same thing happened with seven other youngsters, with Niall Mason looking to permanently stay at Doncaster Rovers after his successful loan period last year.
