As The Northern Echo reports, Daryl Murphy will leave the Magpies this summer, having played only one season with Newcastle United.
Rafael Benitez is hurriedly looking for improvements to his roster as he prepares the team for the challenges which will await them in the Premier League, and it seems that 34-year-old striker is not in his plans for next season.
Murphy himself stated that he and the club will be listening to offers and that he is ready for a move since his playing time will be limited in the upcoming campaign.
During their triumphant run through the Championship, Murphy scored 5 goals, but his role in the squad proved highly valuable after other attackers sustained their injuries.
The Republic of Ireland international has played for Sunderland, Ipswich Town, and Celtic through the course of his career, and it is highly unlikely that he will stay on Tyneside at the start of the new season.
