Crystal Palace to reportedly provide West Ham competition in the race for African attacker

According to reports, Crystal Palace have entered the race to sign out-of-favour Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, providing competition to West Ham United.

Though Iheanacho was promising during the 2015-16 season, he fell out of favor this past season, falling behind the pecking order at the club behind Sergio Aguero as well as young Brazilian sensation Gabriel Jesus.

The Hammers are reportedly looking to recruit new quality strikers this summer following inconsistency from Diafra Sakho as well as Andy Carroll last season. As a result, they were reportedly willing to pay City Iheanacho’s valuation of £20 million.

Iheanacho is already a proven goal scoring at the highest level and also could develop into a world class striker over the coming years.

He would definitely be a good signing for the Hammers and the East London club should step up in their efforts to sign him, especially given Palace’s recent interest.
