Newcastle reportedly set to receive £3million approach for 25-year-old

Paul Dummett, a versatile defender from Newcastle United, seems to be on Mark Hughes’ wish-list as he looks for ways to bolster the defensive aspect of his team, according to reports from the Chronicle.

Dummett, who was already on the radar of Crystal Palace and WBA in the last couple of years, is an Academy product and that is why he has a special connection with the Magpies.

However, the arrival of the new manager could mean change for this highly-rated left-back who has started 44 games during their triumphant campaign in the Championship.

According to the reports in the Chronicle, the price for Paul Dummett should be in the region of £3 million. Newcastle is also looking to off-load Massadio Haidara and Achraf Lazaar, and the place at the left side of the defense seems to be reserved for Marvin Zeegelaar or Kieran Gibbs.

It remains to be seen if the Potters will make an official bid for Dummet, but both clubs could profit from the transaction and the player himself could also find some regular football at the Britannia.
